Here are our Top 5 Cross Training Exercises you should look to include in your training programme;

  1. Swimming: Swimming is a low-impact activity that provides a full-body workout. It helps to improve cardiovascular health and build upper body strength, without putting any additional load through the body. It can also be a great way to keep up your fitness if you have picked up an injury and are unable to run

  2. Cycling: Cycling is a great way to build leg strength and endurance. It's a low-impact activity that can be done indoors or outdoors, and either on a static bike or road bike. And similar to swimming, it can also be a great alternative if you are unable to run.

  3. Yoga: Yoga is a great way to improve flexibility, balance, and core strength, which are all really important for running. It can also help to reduce stress, improve wellbeing and prevent injury.

  4. Walking: Walking is perhaps one of the most underrated forms of exercise out there! Walking regularly can help to improve your overall fitness, increase energy levels, reduce stress, build muscle + help to maintain a healthy heart! Try adding walking into your daily routine, and aim for at least 30 minutes a day, and see what a difference it can make!
